Mix-themed art show launches in Hanoi

An exhibition featuring spectacular works by renowned female artist Van Duong Thanh and other masters of Vietnamese painting opens today at Hoa Sen Trang (White Lotus) Painting Workshop in Hanoi.

Mua Xuan Dat Viet (Spring in Vietnam) features 60 pictures by Thanh in oil-paint, lacquer and silk depicting the beauty of Vietnamese people and the countrys natural settings as well as the artists renditions of her journeys to Stockholm, Paris and Rome.

Visitors will also be treated to six rare drawings by late artists Bui Xuan Phai, Van Cao and Nguyen Tu Nghiem that have never been showcased before.

Thanh is currently teaching fine arts at various schools and universities in Sweden.

She has drawn more than 1,500 paintings and held some 65 exhibitions around the world.

Her biggest painting the 6.5-meter long, 1.5-meter wide Women and Nature – is on display at the Staffanstorp Museum in Sweden.

The event runs until March 8 located at C29 Nghi Tam Street, Tay Ho District, Hanoi.
