According to organizers, 2,000 fresh lotuses will be used to decorate the stage during the four nights of the concert. A large orchestra and 50-member chorus from Ho Chi Minh Citys Conservatory will take part in the show. In addition, 99 little dancers promise to bring audiences into the romantic world of the lotus flower with their ballet performance Seven minutes to relax directed by famous Vietnamese-French choreographer Ea Sola Nguyen Thuy. Duyen Dang Viet Nam takes place at Phan Dinh Phung Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City Jan. 6 to 9, 2005. |
By using visual effects, Mr. Dung said he wanted to eliminate complicated props, which had been used to set the scene at previous Duyen Dang Viet Nam concerts.
He confessed that he was nervous in taking the new artistic direction and hoped audiences would be satisfied.
According to set designer, Duc Tri, four computers will be used to control the visual effects to ensure the graphics correspond with the singers and performers.
Mr. Dung and other filmmakers have recently traveled throughout Vietnam from Vung Taus beautiful beaches to Buu Long mountain to the rubber forest in southern Dong Nai province to capture the countrys most beautiful landscapes to use as the stage background.
