Apparel exports tumble 1.3% in first half

US has remained Viet Nam’s largest apparel export market despite the economic slowdown, deputy general secretary of the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association, according to Nguyen Son.
Vietnam is going to pip India in the world apparel trade, as Vietnamese exporters are projected to surpass the share of the Indian competitors in the global market in 2009, said The Economic Times.
Over the first eight months of this year, Vietnam earned about 2.99 billion USD from textile and apparel exports, an increase of 14.8 per cent over last years same period, said the Industry Ministry.
